At this spot the river has a strong current, and numerous scours are observed. To verify the report, a hovercraft from the Kamsko-Ustinsky temporary rescue post was dispatched. The rescuers of ZPSO No. 1 of the Search and Rescue Service of the Republic of Tatarstan under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan, having arrived at the scene, pulled from the polynya the body of a 78-year-old man 300 meters from the shore, brought him to the shore and handed him over to law enforcement officers.

      What is important to know:

      Ice freezes unevenly; everything matters: the size of the water body, the speed of the current, the presence of wind, and, of course, the air temperature.

      Thin ice is found near the shores, in areas with vegetation, at river confluences, on bends, near bridges and frozen-around objects, at underground springs, in places where warm water and sewage outlets flow into water bodies.
