A modern percutaneous coronary intervention center has opened in Chistopol.

      A new percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) center has opened at the Chistopol Central District Hospital. Today the Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, Almir Abashev, visited the first patients. The center will offer minimally invasive surgeries for the treatment of a wide range of cardiovascular diseases, including myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and chronic ischemic heart disease. The opening of the center is an important step in improving access to specialized medical care for residents of the Chistopol district and nearby areas. The time to deliver patients with acute cardiovascular conditions to a vascular center is reduced on average from 3 hours (Kazan) to 30 minutes (Chistopol), which significantly improves the prognosis for this category of patients. Almir Abashev, Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan: “This is a long-awaited event. The center’s first patient underwent diagnostic examinations. This is a wonderful gift on the eve of the New Year from the Rais of Tatarstan. The center’s additional equipment was funded from the republican budget.” The center is equipped with modern equipment, which will allow a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to be performed at world-class standards. The opening of the PCI center in Chistopol will enable timely high-tech care for patients with acute cardiovascular events, which will significantly increase the chances of a favorable outcome and reduce disability. This project is being implemented thanks to the “Fight Against Cardiovascular Diseases” program of the national project “Long and Active Life,” which is being successfully implemented in the Republic of Tatarstan with the active support of the Rais of the Republic.

      The program is aimed at reducing mortality from cardiovascular diseases, which are currently one of the main causes of death among the population.
