A large-scale microbusiness support program has launched in Tatarstan
Thanks to a national project, more than 200 self-employed individuals received free trading spaces at republican fairs, earning a total of almost 2 million rubles.
The "My Business" Center of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan is implementing a program unique for the region as part of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." Its essence is to give self-employed citizens of the Republic of Tatarstan a free start for sales on large public platforms. Since the beginning of 2025 this opportunity has already been used by more than 200 people.
The key event was the "I Am Tatarstan" fair, timed to coincide with Russian Entrepreneurship Day and held in Kazan from May 23 to 25. At it, 120 self-employed artisans and producers presented their products without paying rent. A similar fair held in honor of Republic Day gathered another 40 participants.
"Entrepreneurship creates new jobs and shapes a new type of person: successful, independent, ready for change. The future prosperity of our republic belongs to entrepreneurs," emphasized Midhat Shagiakhmetov, Minister of Economy of Tatarstan.
A direct result of the initiative was not only increased recognition of local brands but also concrete financial success. Across all organized fairs, the total revenue of the self-employed participants amounted to 1.984 million rubles. This proved the effectiveness of the measure as a 'quick-start' tool for small businesses.
The program continues to operate, providing Tatarstan’s self-employed with a platform for development, direct sales and building a customer base without initial costs for a retail space.
