Situations regarding influenza and acute respiratory viral infections
Influenza and ARVI situation
The Republic of Tatarstan is experiencing a seasonal rise in acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza.
During the 52nd week (from December 22 to December 28, 2025), 27,352 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered, which is 24.5% above the epidemic threshold. An increase in incidence was noted across all age groups.
In the etiological structure of morbidity, influenza accounts for 80.6% (1,540 cases), with influenza A(H3N2) predominating.
In the last week of the current year, 280 cases of COVID-19 were registered, which is 38.6% lower than the incidence for the same period in 2024.
The Rospotrebnadzor Office for the Republic of Tatarstan reminds the public of the need to follow preventive measures:
- observe personal hygiene rules: wash hands regularly and thoroughly with soap or treat them with alcohol-based disinfectants, especially after visiting public places;
- use protective medical masks in places with large crowds, on public transport and in medical facilities. Replace masks promptly every 2–3 hours of use;
- reduce the time spent in crowded places and public indoor spaces, avoid contact with people showing signs of respiratory infection whenever possible;
- ventilate rooms more often, use bactericidal irradiators, increase the frequency of wet cleaning of premises;
- dress according to the weather, consume protein-rich foods and vitamins.
At the first signs of a respiratory illness (fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat) you should call a doctor to your home and follow their recommendations; do not self-medicate.
