Tatarstan has summed up the first results of the program to resettle dilapidated housing, which received a new impetus following the directive of the President of Russia. Instead of abstract plans — concrete addresses and handed-over keys.
As many as 43 families from Kazan and Vysokogorsky District moved last year from the emergency housing stock to modern apartments. Most of the housing is located in the actively developing Salavat Kupere district. Municipalities were handed not just "square meters," but fully livable apartments with finishes, appliances and security systems.
This local story is part of a large-scale effort. A total of 162 thousand "square meters" of new housing for resettlement were commissioned in the republic in 2025, changing living conditions for thousands of families. Coordination of such projects at the federal level is handled by a State Council commission chaired by the Rais of Tatarstan.
