A Russian–Indian traditional medicine center is planned to open in Zelenodolsk.
In Tatarstan, the possibility of creating a joint Russian–Indian health center is being considered. According to the head of the Republic’s Investment Development Agency, Taliya Minnullina, as quoted by TASS, the project could be implemented within a two- to three-year timeframe. It is expected that the facility will be located near Kazan — in Zelenodolsk. Now, Minnullina noted, the parties are moving to the practical elaboration of the initiative, including selecting the site and the format of the future center. The idea emerged in the autumn of 2025 during the business forum “TIME: Russia — India. Mutual Efficiency,” which was held in Kazan. At that time, a representative of India’s AYUSH Ministry, Rajesh Kumar Kotechi, proposed developing in Tatarstan a resort focused on traditional Indian wellness practices. He emphasized that Indian businesses are showing interest in such a project in the region. The AYUSH Ministry in India oversees the development of Ayurveda, yoga and other branches of traditional medicine, and it is this expertise that is planned to be used in creating the center in Tatarstan.
