      In the midst of the holiday season, Rospotrebnadzor of Tatarstan reminded residents and visitors of Kazan about the rules for refunding money for tickets to cultural and entertainment events.

      If a cancellation, date change or substitution of an artist occurred at the organizer’s initiative, buyers are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price. This applies to theaters, concert halls and children's New Year performances.

      If a ticket is returned at the buyer’s request, the amount refunded depends on the remaining time before the event begins:

      - 10 or more days before the event — 100% of the cost is refunded;

      - from 5 to 10 days — at least 50%;

      - from 3 to 5 days — at least 30%;

      - less than 3 days — a refund is usually not made.

      In case of the buyer’s illness or the death of a family member, the organizer is obliged to refund the full ticket price, even if the event has already started. To arrange a refund, an application must be submitted with supporting documents — a doctor’s note, an extract from the medical record or a death certificate. Documents should be provided within 14 days after the event.
