On January 7, a ceremonial opening ceremony of the Spartakiad of Students of the Republic of Tatarstan in cross-country skiing among boys and girls born in 2008–2009 was held at the Yalta-Zay Sports Training Center. About 100 athletes from 17 teams representing cities and districts of the republic, as well as the team of the Republic of Tatarstan, have gathered for the competition, which will last several days. The opening ceremony was attended by honored guests, including Head of the Zainsk Municipal District Razif Karimov, head of the district executive committee Emil Galeev, Vice President of the Tatarstan Cross-Country Skiing Federation Eduard Galeev, director of the branch of JSC "Setevaya Kompaniya" "Almetyevsk Electric Networks" Sergey Ogurtsov, head of Zainsk Electric Networks Oleg Lukin, director of the Yalta-Zay Sports Training Center Bella Ogurtsova, executive manager of the Tatarstan Cross-Country Skiing Federation Denis Blokhin, deputy head of the Zainsk district executive committee Regina Kamalova, and head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Ilzira Timerkaeva.
