In Tatarstan, 51 secondary vocational education institutions were selected for an experiment in taking two OGE exams.
This year Tatarstan will join an experiment to take two OGE subjects instead of four. The republic has selected 51 secondary vocational education institutions that ninth-grade graduates will be able to enter based on the results of two exams. The corresponding document was provided to Tatar-inform by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan.
These colleges and technical schools are expected to enroll more than 4,900 students as part of the experiment. However, the ministry’s press service clarified that the list of vocational educational organizations and training programs proposed for participation in the experiment is still preliminary.
“It still needs to be approved by the relevant regulatory documents,” said the ministry’s press officer Alsu Mukhametova.
According to the document, participants in the experiment may include the College of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Kazan Radiomechanical College, Kazan Construction College, Kazan Energy College, Kazan Motor Transport Technical School, Kazan Petrochemical College, Kazan College of Technology and Design, Kazan Aviation Technical College, Arsk Agro-Industrial Professional College, Buinsky Veterinary Technical School, Drozhzhanovsky College of Industry Technologies, Tetyushi Agricultural Technical School, Muslyumovo Polytechnic Technical School, Nizhnekamsk College of Transport Infrastructure, as well as agrarian colleges in Apastovo, Bogatye Saby, Kukmor, Cheremshan, Sarmanovo, Bavly, Nurlat and other institutions.
It is expected that students will be able to train for professions in the operation and repair of agricultural machinery and motor vehicles, installation of radio-electronic equipment, electrical installation of networks and equipment, garment manufacturing, repair of utility engineering networks, aircraft assembly, agricultural production, as well as culinary and confectionery arts, metalworking (locksmithing), veterinary medicine, floristry, graphic design and other specialties.
“With a certificate based on two exams, it will be possible to enter colleges and technical schools only for a specific list of professions and specialties. This list was determined based on the personnel shortages in the republic and projected demand,” said Ramis Muzipov, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, during a live broadcast organized by the ministry.
If a ninth-grade graduate received a certificate based on four exams, then, as in previous years, they will be able to continue studying in the tenth grade and enroll in any specialty at colleges and technical schools.
Last year only Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Lipetsk Region took part in the experiment to take two OGE subjects.
