The fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan will allocate nearly 26 million rubles to repair the Moskovsky-21 riverboat, which is unfit for navigation.
JSC "Fleet of the Republic of Tatarstan" will allocate about 26 million rubles for the repair and modernization of the passenger motor ship "Moskovsky-21" as part of the next survey by the Russian Classification Society (RKO). The corresponding document was published on the public procurement website.
According to open data from ship registries, the motor ship was built in 1987. The vessel belongs to the passenger fleet; its overall length is 36.3 m, beam 6.5 m, draught 1.2 m. The vessel's current condition is listed as "unfit for navigation," which requires a comprehensive overhaul and subsequent survey.
The technical specification includes a wide range of works — from dry-docking and connection to shore power to hull repairs, replacement of main engines and diesel generators. Also planned are cleaning and painting of the above-water and underwater parts of the hull, repair of shaft lines and steering gear, defect inspection and partial replacement of electrical equipment, pipelines and fittings, as well as refurbishment of passenger saloons and toilets.
The deadline for completion of the works is no later than April 25, 2026 from the date of signing the vessel acceptance certificate into repair, although early completion is allowed. The contractor must agree the work schedule with the customer and provide for technical control at all stages of the repair.
Earlier the republic’s fleet had already announced repairs of other passenger vessels. Last year the company planned to allocate 14.3 million rubles for defect inspection and repair of one of the oldest motor ships — "OM-173" built in 1964 in Hungary. It was also reported that there were plans to repair the motor ships "OM-350" and "Moskva-160," built in 1959 and 1984 respectively — the total funding for these works was estimated at 25.6 million rubles.
The motor ship "Moskovsky-21" was built at the Moscow Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant and was previously operated in Kazan, then registered to Nizhny Novgorod. Vessels of this design have traditionally been used on river passenger lines and excursion routes; however, their continued operation requires regular confirmation of technical condition in accordance with RKO requirements.
