According to the authorities' position, the Republic of Tatarstan has the potential to open a representative office or assembly production of the Changan automotive company. The Republic of Tatarstan is negotiating the possible opening of an assembly production or representative office of the Chinese automotive company Changan. This was stated by Taliya Minullina, head of the regional Investment Development Agency, as reported by RIA Novosti. According to Minullina, Tatarstan has all the necessary conditions for localizing production: a developed automotive component base, modern industrial infrastructure, and IT potential concentrated in Innopolis. "To promote the idea of localization, the republic has not only an automotive component base but also Innopolis, where joint developments in this field can be conducted. (...) This is an ideal platform not only for assembly but also for joint developments in the automotive sector," she emphasized. It is worth noting that earlier, the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the Changan plant in Chongqing, where he became acquainted with the company's advanced manufacturing technologies. Minullina called the enterprise "unique and high-tech," noting the prospects for cooperation. To date, Changan is among the top 20 largest car manufacturers. In 2024, Changan, in partnership with Huawei and China Unicom, opened the largest digital intelligent factory in its history, covering an area of 770,000 square meters. The enterprise is equipped with intelligent devices, robots, autonomous vehicles, and automated workstations. This allows for the production of a new car every minute on the assembly line.
