A man took photos of his acquaintance without her consent, created a fake page in one of the social networks, and posted the previously taken pictures there without the girl's consent.
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan reported that a criminal case against a local resident accused of violating the privacy of an individual has been sent to court, writes "Tatar-Inform". According to the investigation, in 2023, the man took intimate photos of his acquaintance without her consent. Then the man created a fake page in one of the popular social networks under her name and began to post the photos he had taken. As stated by Andrey Sheptytsky, the senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Tatarstan, the actions of the accused are classified under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal collection or dissemination of information about the private life of an individual"). Law enforcement agencies emphasize that publishing personal photos without a person's consent is a criminal offense. Currently, the case with an approved indictment has been sent to court for substantive consideration. The maximum punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for up to two years. It was previously reported that a resident of Nizhnekamsk would stand trial for installing a hidden camera in his acquaintance's apartment. The obtained intimate data was used by the man for blackmail.
