The activity of the cafe "Chalbar" in Kazan has been suspended for 30 days based on a court decision following an inspection by the Rospotrebnadzor Office for the Republic of Tatarstan.

The reason for the unscheduled inspection was the poisoning of one of the visitors to the establishment with an intestinal infection. According to the press service of the Rospotrebnadzor office for the Republic of Tatarstan, numerous serious violations of sanitary legislation requirements were identified during the inspection. Specialists found a lack of conditions for preparing dishes, insufficient equipment, and violations of dishwashing procedures. The cafe was inadequately cleaned – dishes and production tables were found to have greasy stains with soot and contaminants. A particular danger was posed by the practice of freezing unsold ready-made dishes for sale on other days. Bacteria from the E. coli group were found in samples of the "Gyros with chicken" dish and swabs from the chef's work clothing, indicating serious violations of hygiene rules and food preparation technology. Additional violations included allowing staff to work without medical examinations, receiving and storing products without labeling and in violation of storage conditions, as well as the absence of production control according to HACCP principles. As a result of the inspection, 6 batches of products were removed from sale, with a total weight exceeding 5 kg. Based on the court's decision, a temporary ban on the establishment's activities was imposed for 30 days. The affected visitor was diagnosed with an intestinal infection of unknown etiology.
