The Japanese authorities have imposed sanctions on the special economic zone "Alabuga" and the largest drone manufacturer from Tatarstan.
The sanctions list also includes JSC "Remdizel," which develops and produces families of armored vehicles. The Japanese authorities announced new sanctions against 48 organizations and 14 individuals from Russia, the country's Foreign Ministry reported. The sanctions, according to the newspaper "Kommersant," impose restrictions on payments and capital operations, which will now only be allowed with special permission from the Foreign Ministry. Three enterprises from Tatarstan have been sanctioned: the special economic zone (SEZ) "Alabuga," JSC "Remdizel," and the company "Albatros." In the SEZ "Alabuga," strike drones "Geran-2" are assembled, which are used in the war against Ukraine. The company "Albatros" is the largest manufacturer of drones from the SEZ "Alabuga." The company assembles UAVs "Geran-2" under a franchise. In 2024, it earned over 955 million rubles — 61% more than the previous year, reported "Vyorstka," citing data from the state accounting reporting resource (BFO). JSC "Remdizel," according to "Business Online," develops and produces families of armored vehicles with wheel formulas 4×4, 6×6, 8×8 "Typhoon," "Tornado," and "Shot." In August 2023, the company presented a prototype of the unmanned armored vehicle "Zubilo" at the international forum "Army-2023." "Business Online" reminds that the SEZ "Alabuga," LLC "Alabuga Development," and LLC "Alabuga-Fiber" have already been sanctioned by Japan. Now the company appears in the sanctions list under the name JSC "SEZ PPT "Alabuga." In turn, "Albatros" has been on Japan's sanctions lists since June 2024. Earlier, the SEZ "Alabuga" had already been sanctioned by the European Union, the USA, the UK, Australia, and other countries. The special economic zone "Alabuga" houses a factory for assembling military drones. As early as 2023, journalists found out that students, including minors, are actively recruited for the assembly of Iranian "Shaheds" (in Russia, they are called "Geran-2") in the SEZ "Alabuga." The local college "Alabuga Polytechnic" recruits new personnel for work on the assembly line. Subscribe to our channel on Telegram.
