A resident of Naberezhnye Chelny was sentenced to a suspended term under the article on "discrediting" the army for insulting comments about Russian soldiers.

The city court of Naberezhnye Chelny found 23-year-old local resident Ravil Nabiullin guilty of repeated "discrediting" of the army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced him to three years probation. He reported this to the "OVD-Info" project. According to Nabiullin, the criminal case was initiated due to his comments in the Telegram channel "Nevzorov", in which he insulted Russian soldiers in Ukraine. What exactly the young man wrote is not disclosed. Judging by the case card on the court's website, the process started in March of this year. About 10 hearings took place. "OVD-Info" writes that Nabiullin admitted his guilt. In February 2024, Nabiullin was fined 30,000 rubles under the administrative article on "discrediting" the army (article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). At that time, he called a Russian soldier "a orc" in a group chat on "VKontakte". Nabiullin believes that someone from the chat, which had about a hundred users, reported him. In November of last year, employees of the Center "E" detained him in connection with the criminal case. "OVD-Info" specifies that from October 2022 to May 2024, the city court of Naberezhnye Chelny considered six protocols against Ravil Nabiullin. In addition to "discrediting" the army, he was charged with demonstrating prohibited symbols (part 1 of article 20.3 of the Administrative Code), violating the procedure for the official use of state symbols of Russia (article 17.10 of the Administrative Code), and three counts of "inciting hatred" (article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code). In all cases, he was found guilty. In the spring of 2022, Nabiullin was included in the "list of terrorists and extremists" of Rosfinmonitoring. He explained to "OVD-Info" that he ended up on the list due to a criminal case on "calls for extremism" (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code), which was initiated because of his comments about migrants from Central Asia. According to Nabiullin, he was sentenced to two years probation for this case in February 2023. Soon after the armed invasion of Ukraine, the Russian authorities tightened legislation. Since the spring of 2022, administrative and criminal cases have been initiated against participants in anti-war actions under new articles on "discrediting" the Russian army and spreading "fakes" about it, including on social media.
