       An annual indexation of transport fares is planned, which will allow for the compensation of increased costs for fuel, spare parts, and maintenance, as well as financing the renewal of rolling stock and infrastructure development.

       Kazan passengers are facing a significant increase in public transport fares. Carriers have submitted an official proposal to the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on tariffs to raise the cost of a single trip to 49 rubles. Importantly, this price will be uniform for both cash payments and cashless transactions, which abolishes the existing discount system. According to information obtained by the publication "BUSINESS Online," carriers have also proposed increasing the compensation from the republican budget for the transportation of privileged categories of citizens to 49 rubles, which currently stands at 33 rubles. This is a key condition for maintaining transport accessibility for all segments of the population. Notably, even this amount, according to a source in the transport sector, does not cover actual costs. "We are looking at the situation realistically, so the tariff proposed to the RT government committee is lower," he noted. The cost of a single trip has reached 78 rubles, while the economically justified tariff is 80–82 rubles. It is worth recalling that in 2024, Kazan carriers had already requested to raise the price to 45 rubles, but the government committee approved a tariff 2 rubles lower. Earlier, it was reported that a criminal case had been initiated regarding a terrorist act, with three minors from Tatarstan being involved. Representatives of the Central Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that the teenagers committed the crime under the influence of foreign intelligence services.
