According to a study by the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), Kazan is among the top five leaders alongside Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, and the cities of the Golden Ring, reports "Tatar-inform". Most travelers plan to spend 3 to 5 days traveling during the New Year holidays. As noted by ATOR Vice President for domestic tourism Sergey Romashkin, "the average duration of winter trips across the country is 4.5 nights." This format is ideal for families with children, allowing for a rich program combined with comfort. In addition, experts point out the difference in approaches to vacation planning. Long excursion tours are mostly chosen by tourists over 40 years old and couples without small children. Meanwhile, short city trips are in demand among young families with school-aged children. The popularity of short trips indicates a change in the habits of Russian tourists – instead of long journeys, many now prefer intense mini-vacations in major cities of the country. It was previously reported that Kazan ranked among the top three cities with the highest spending on preparations for the November holidays. According to experts' estimates, the average bill in Kazan spent on the services of recreation centers during the November holidays amounted to 4,490 rubles.
