Benefits for families with children with disabilities: what is available in Tatarstan

      In the Republic of Tatarstan, families raising children with disabilities can expect additional benefits beyond standard social support measures. The material "Tatar-inform" outlines the specific types of assistance available. Parents, guardians, and caregivers of children with disabilities have access to the following types of support:

      - tax relief. A tax deduction is provided for each child with a disability under the age of 18. If the child has a disability of group I or II and is studying full-time at a secondary vocational or higher education institution, the right to the deduction remains until the age of 24. The amount of the benefit is 12,000 rubles for parents and adoptive parents and 6,000 rubles for guardians and caregivers.

      - preferential enrollment. Children with disabilities are given priority when enrolling in nurseries, kindergartens, as well as in sanatorium and rehabilitation institutions.

      - additional days off. One of the parents or legal representatives is entitled to four paid days off per month.

      - flexible work schedule. If necessary, a parent, guardian, or caregiver of a child with a disability under 18 can switch to a part-time work schedule.

      - convenient vacation time. Annual paid leave can be granted at any time convenient for the legal representative.

      - special working conditions. Involvement in night shifts, overtime work, business trips, as well as work on weekends and holidays is allowed only with the consent of the employee raising a child with a disability.

      - priority service. Families have the right to receive services in pharmacies, medical institutions, stores, post offices, and other organizations on a priority basis.
