      Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken expressed doubts about the possibility of a US attack on Greenland. In an interview with VRT, he stated that such a scenario would lead to serious consequences for NATO. According to Franken, if the US decides to annex the island by military means, it would be considered crossing a red line and could lead to the collapse of the North Atlantic alliance. In that case, the European Union would immediately activate plan "B," although the minister did not disclose its details. "There is always a Plan B. It is not worth talking too much about it, but plans always exist," emphasized Franken (quote from HLN.be). The head of Belgium's Ministry of Defense noted that no one wants military confrontation with the US. He pointed to America's significant military superiority in the region and noted the impossibility of the EU winning in a potential conflict. "We are not going to start a war over Greenland, are we? The Americans have colossal military superiority, especially in this region. Look at the supply lines. We will not be able to defeat them militarily," said Franken. At the same time, Franken emphasized that even in the event of a split in NATO, the European Union would continue cooperation with the US on collective security issues. The minister noted the threat from Russia, including in Ukraine.
