In the Verkhneuslonsky district, the court process concluded in a high-profile case regarding the attempted illegal sale of narcotic substances in especially large quantities. The district prosecutor's office supported the state prosecution against a 27-year-old man who appeared in court on serious charges – part 3 of article 30 and part 5 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan.
The investigation established that in January 2021, the accused conspired with a person who had previously been convicted of a similar crime. Together, they seized a large batch of narcotic substances from a "stash" in the forest plantations in the territory of Moscow, intending to sell it later. After that, the criminal went to Chelyabinsk, using hitchhiking.
However, the criminal's plans were disrupted at the State Traffic Inspectorate post "Malinovka" in the Republic of Tatarstan. During the inspection of a backpack with personal belongings, police officers discovered and seized the prohibited substance. The total weight of the found narcotic exceeded 1.9 kilograms – the batch was promptly removed from illegal circulation.
