      On Saturday, several incidents related to backdrafts in chimneys and ventilation ducts of apartments occurred in Bugulma. This was reported by the press service of the Housing Inspection of Tatarstan. At 10:39, the emergency dispatch service of the Bugulmag EPU received information about the poor health of a couple born in 1993 and 1995 in house No. 58 on Yakupova Street. They did not require hospitalization. Upon inspection by the gas service, it was found that the draft in the chimney and ventilation duct was maintained with closed windows, but an electric fan in the bathroom created a backdraft. The gas column was turned off and sealed. Later, at 12:50 and 14:20, calls were received from houses No. 8 on Nikitina Street and No. 2 on Baumana Street about similar backdraft cases. There were no casualties, and the gas columns were also turned off. At 21:50, a woman born in 1979 was hospitalized from house No. 36 on Radishcheva Street. After examination and medical assistance, she returned home. A backdraft was detected in the apartment with both the window open and closed, but no gas leaks were recorded. The gas column was turned off with a plug installed. Earlier, on Friday, medical assistance was needed for a woman born in 1987 and a child born in 2023 in Bugulma. Hospitalization was not required. The inspection revealed violations in the flue gas system of the gas water heater and the installation of a grille instead of a cleaning pocket door. In Kazan, backdraft was also recorded in house No. 9 on Iskra Street. There were no casualties. After the management company provided an act of inspection of the chimneys and ventilation ducts, gas supply will be restored. Additionally, a gas pipeline leak was identified at house No. 58 on Victory Avenue, and the restoration of gas supply is awaiting repairs and equipment checks in entrance No. 4. The Housing Inspection of Tatarstan is investigating the circumstances of all incidents, as well as compliance with obligations by management companies and the gas service. The agency reminds that if there is a gas column in the apartment, it is necessary to regularly ventilate the kitchen, even on frosty days.
