Program "Our Yard": Plans for 2026

      Next year, 561 courtyards will be renovated in 13 municipalities, including in the Laishevsky district, with a budget of 10 billion rubles. The Institute for Urban Development of Tatarstan presented plans for the improvement of courtyard areas for 2026 as part of the republican program "Our Courtyard." What awaits the residents of the republic? The director of the Institute, Nailya Nagumanova, noted that the "Our Courtyard" program has covered thousands of courtyards over the years and demonstrated a systematic approach to improvement. In 2026, it will continue, preserving its core principles. The renovated courtyards, where more than 150,000 residents of the republic will be able to relax, socialize, and lead an active lifestyle, will be available. How it all began The program started in 2020 at the initiative of Rustam Minnikhanov. Over six years, 5,851 courtyards have been improved, enhancing conditions for 1.65 million people. The program has covered 45 municipal districts, 32 of which have completed their participation. Kazan is the leader in the number of improved courtyards Kazan leads among cities in the number of improved courtyards — 246. Following are Naberezhnye Chelny (68 courtyards) and the Zelenodolsky district (62 courtyards). Significant work is planned in the Nizhnekamsk (55 courtyards) and Chistopol (33 courtyards) districts. How are courtyards selected for improvement? Some courtyards were selected based on the results of a nationwide online voting in which 194,719 residents participated. As a result of the voting, 200 courtyards received priority. Criteria for participation in the program The program involves the renovation of courtyards that meet the following criteria: multi-apartment buildings built before 2014; asphalt surfaces in need of repair; previously no improvements have been made. What is done in the courtyards? Standard work is carried out in all courtyards: repairing asphalt on roadways and sidewalks; installing lighting; setting up children's and sports playgrounds; installing street furniture; creating safe pedestrian routes. Residents of the courtyards included in the program are advised to keep an eye on announcements about meetings with owners, where improvement schemes and work timelines will be approved. New initiatives Last year, the program continued with the "Kürshe" festival aimed at revitalizing courtyard areas and creating local communities. For example, in the courtyard of houses No. 41, 43, 45, and 47 on Fatykh Amirhan Street in Kazan, a special area for walking dogs has appeared. The project was implemented by the management company "Savinovo," the republican initiative "Dog-friendly Tatarstan," and the administration of the Novo-Savinovsky district. Work in this direction will continue in 2026. They also plan to expand sports infrastructure next year: new and previously improved courtyards will feature tekball courts. The Republic of Tatarstan's program "Our Courtyard" has been engaged in comprehensive improvement of courtyard areas in Tatarstan since 2020.
