She often felt tired but continued to work. One day, the woman lost consciousness while in a store. "I didn't even hope that I would be invited for surgery so quickly. It's very good that such operations are now being performed in Naberezhnye Chelny. The staff are wonderful people who give hope for the future," the woman said. 46-year-old Mikhail Surkov from Cheremshan had been waiting for a transplant for several months. The man was also diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. "One day I felt very bad. In three days, I turned yellow like an orange, lost consciousness, and was taken away by an ambulance. Then, after some time, I received a call inviting me to Chelny for the transplant. The operation lasted 2.5 hours, everything went well. I was operated on by wonderful surgeons. Now I feel much better," the man said. The complex operations were conducted under the guidance of Alexander Kirshin, the chief freelance transplant specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan. Doctors from BSMP and the Republican Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan participated in the interventions. The medical professionals themselves note the complexity of liver transplant operations. "Such delicate, jewel-like work requires the highest professionalism. And we are very grateful to our colleagues from Kazan for sharing their practical skills and experience with us. Now we will develop another area of transplantation. A successful start has already been made," noted BSMP surgeon Ayrat Fatkhetdinov.
