      The Pushkin Cultural Center in Kazan has initiated the creation and holding of an interregional festival-competition of romances in the spring of 2026. It will be called "Pushkin Note," will take place on the stage of the Pushkin Cultural Center itself, and the main prize is expected to be a performance by the winner with an orchestra in early June at the "PushkinFest" in Kazan. "18 people passed the in-person selection round. The geography is good and interesting: Kazan, Kirov, Moscow, Cheboksary... Applications came from different cities – this is pleasant. On April 19, the in-person stage of the competition will take place at the Pushkin Cultural Center, the final, and that same evening, starting at 18:00 – a gala concert and the official awarding of the winners. One of the incentives for the laureates of this competition is participation in our "PushkinFest" and a performance with an orchestra. And possibly further collaboration and solo programs on our stage. It is always nice to find talents to communicate with, support, and offer, like, for example, to sing with an orchestra," said the chairwoman of the competition jury, People's Artist of Tatarstan Yulia Ziganshina, to Tatar-inform. Applications from lovers of poetic word, romance, and traditions of live performance were accepted by the organizers for a month – from February 10 to March 10. Soloists and ensembles with artists over 16 years old were invited to participate, both professionals and amateurs. The first, remote selection of participants took place from March 11 to 16. For the finalists and all those interested, on the eve of the gala concert of the "Pushkin Note" festival, on April 18, People's Artist of Tatarstan Yulia Ziganshina will conduct a free thematic master class at the Pushkin Cultural Center. "It will be useful for the competition participants to listen: I have extensive experience – both as a listener and as a performer. We are holding the master class specifically on the eve of the competition itself," said Ziganshina. That same evening, a concert "Russian Romance: from the Golden Age to the Silver Age" will take place with the participation of Sergey Petrishchev – a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Children's Musical Theater named after Sats, a laureate of the international competition "Romansiada." The gala concert of the festival on April 19 will feature both finalists of its competitive program and jury members.

      "Romance has never fought hard for popularity. And in general, high art will never be the most popular, this has long been known. Our task is different – to find people who are not indifferent to romances and to Pushkin, to the poets of the Golden Age. We are interested in finding like-minded individuals – this is the task of the competition. To find and look at people who cherish Pushkin's words, who perform music to Pushkin's verses, to expand the circle of friends and attract to the Pushkin Center those who care about high art, high literature, and Pushkin's word. This is the goal of our collaboration with these people," emphasized the interviewee of the agency.
