Four Haval and Tenet models have been added to the list of cars for taxis.

      The list of cars that can be purchased for use as taxis has been expanded to include four models of Chinese crossovers Haval and Tenet. The corresponding order from the Government of the Russian Federation has been posted on the official legal information publication portal. The list of vehicles that meet the parameters of the localization law, which came into effect on March 1, includes three models of Haval (F7, F7x, and Jolion), produced by the Great Wall group in the Tula region, as well as the Tenet T7 (analogous to Chery Tiggo 7 – note T-i), manufactured by "AGR Holding" at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga. Earlier, in early March, the list was supplemented with UMO 5, new models of "Moskvich," M70 and M90, and the Sollers SF1 van, while excluding "UAZ" vehicles – "Patriot" and "Hunter," as well as two models of Evolute – i-Jet and I-Pro. In addition to those mentioned above, the list now includes the Lada brand (models – Granta, Iskra, Vesta, Aura, Largus, Niva Travel, Niva Legend), the Sollers brand (model – SP7), the Evolute brand (models – i-Joy, i-Sky, i-Space), the Voyah brand (models – Free, Dream, Passion), and the "Moskvich" brand (models – 3, 3e, 6, 8).

      The requirements of the localization law do not apply to vehicles that began operating as taxis before the new law came into effect on March 1 of the current year, 2026. Since the beginning of spring, the inclusion of a new vehicle in the regional taxi registry is allowed under one of two conditions. This is either compliance with the established level of localization (a minimum of 3,200 points) or production under a special investment contract (SPIC) concluded from March 1, 2022, to March 1, 2025. In the Kaliningrad region and the subjects of the Siberian Federal District, the law will come into effect on March 1, 2028, and in the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District – on March 1, 2030.
