In Tatarstan, the acceptance of applications for first grades will begin on April 1.

      The enrollment campaign for children entering the first grade starts on April 1. The campaign will last until June 30 for those living in the territory assigned to a specific school, as well as for those with preferential rights. If you have chosen an educational institution in another district for your child, you will have to wait until July 6.

      1. Admission to the educational organization.

      Document submission deadlines:

      Stage 1 – April 1 - June 30 for children:

      - with preferential rights: children whose full-blooded siblings study at this school have preferential rights when enrolling in the first grade.

      - living in the assigned territory.

      Stage 2 – July 6 - September 5 for children:

      - not living in the assigned territory.

      The regulation on the assignment of a school to a microdistrict is issued no later than March 15 and is posted on the school's website by March 25.

      Stage 1 - Enrollment is formalized by the order of the educational institution within 3 working days after the completion of the application submission (from July 1 to 5)

      Stage 2 - Enrollment is formalized by the order of the educational institution within 5 working days after the application is submitted.

      Orders for enrollment in the first grade are posted on the information board of the educational institution on the day of their issuance.

      Children's attendance at preparatory classes for school does not constitute a preferential right when enrolling in the educational institution.

      In case of refusal, the parent (legal representative) must contact:

      the education department (management) in the territory where the child resides to resolve disputed issues and obtain information about the availability of free places in nearby schools.

      A new feature in 2026 will be the acceptance of a complete package of documents through the State Services portal.

      Admission to a general educational institution is conducted on the principles of equal admission conditions for all applicants, except for individuals who, in accordance with federal law, are granted special rights:

      Preferential rights when enrolling in the first grade are granted to children whose full-blooded siblings study at this school.

      Priority is given to children of military personnel and children of police officers at the place of residence of their families.

      Children of prosecutors, judges, and employees of the investigative committee are provided with places in educational organizations that have boarding facilities out of turn.

      Children of judges, prosecutors, and investigative committee employees have priority enrollment rights when submitting documents to educational organizations with boarding facilities.

      Priority rights can be used by children of military personnel, police officers, internal affairs bodies who are not police officers, Rosgvardia, and FSIN at the place of residence of their families.

      Preferential rights when enrolling in the first grade are granted to children whose full-blooded siblings study at this school.

      For applicants with preferential and priority rights, a document confirming this right will be required.

      How to find out which school a specific house is assigned to?

      The list of educational institutions and the addresses assigned to them is formed by the district or city administration and is stipulated in a local act, which is then posted on the Internet on the official pages of schools no later than March 15 of the current year.

      What documents are required for admission to the 1st grade for citizens of the Russian Federation?

      - certificate confirming the child's registration at the place of residence or stay;

      - document confirming the aforementioned statuses.

      After submitting the complete package of documents, educational organizations will direct foreign citizens and stateless persons to undergo testing for knowledge of the Russian language sufficient for mastering educational programs of primary, basic, and secondary general education.

      the first Wednesday of each month + additional dates: August 26, 2026, and September 30, 2026.

      How will parents submit documents?

      For citizens of the Russian Federation:

      Applications and documents can be submitted:

      - Through the EPGU portal;

      - in person at the general educational organization;

      - through postal operators.

      For foreign citizens

      Applications and documents can be submitted:

      - through the EPGU portal (recommended method);

      - through postal operators.

      To assist parents in submitting documents, the school's website will provide all documents and information: start and end of acceptance, links to the site where applications can be submitted, application form, etc.

      In the application, parents will need to indicate consent to the processing of personal data, choice of language of instruction, and native language for study.

      The only reason for refusal can be the absence of free places. Any entrance testing for children is illegal.

      Children's attendance at preparatory classes for school does not constitute a preferential right when enrolling in the educational institution.

      This is an additional paid educational service. Their program meets the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards for applicants to the 1st grade, and such classes can be very beneficial for the child and help them feel more confident at the beginning of the school year. The right to choose to attend such a course remains with the child's legal representatives.
