Thanks to winning a presidential grant competition, a unique tourist attraction will appear here — interactive easel stands created based on the paintings of the great Russian artist Ivan Shishkin. Visitors will be able to see with their own eyes how the landscapes captured by the painter have changed over a century and a half.

      The National Park "Lower Kama," located in the territory of Tatarstan, received a presidential grant for the implementation of the project "En Plein Air with Ivan Shishkin." The initiative combines art, history, and environmental education, offering park guests a new way to get acquainted with the nature and cultural heritage of the region. The name of Ivan Shishkin is inextricably linked with these places. The great artist, a native of Yelabuga, drew inspiration from the picturesque surroundings of the Kama River. Two of his famous works — "On the Kama near Yelabuga" and "Holy Spring near Yelabuga" — were painted right here, in the territory of the modern national park. More than a century and a half has passed, and now visitors will have a unique opportunity to compare what the artist saw with what is revealed to the eyes today.

      As part of the project, interactive easel stands will be installed in two historical locations — the Red Hill area, where Shishkin painted the view of the Kama, and the Holy Spring area. They will be designed in the form of picturesque easels, on which reproductions of the artist's paintings will be placed. Comfortable benches will be nearby, where visitors can stop, examine the details, and compare the landscape of the past with the modern view.

      The interactivity of the stands will allow park guests not just to look at images but to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Shishkin's creativity. Special elements will help to see what changes have occurred in nature over a century and a half: how the coastline has changed, which trees have grown, and which have disappeared, and how humans have influenced these picturesque corners.
