Oleg Morozov is running for the State Duma elections in the Nizhnekamsk district.

      Deputy of the State Duma Oleg Morozov was the first among his fellow single-mandate colleagues from Tatarstan to register as a candidate for the preliminary voting of "United Russia." The parliamentarian was elected in the current convocation from the Nizhnekamsk district, which, judging by his application for the primaries, he intends to represent in the future as well. Morozov is the chairman of the Control Committee and has extensive experience in deputy work. From 1994 to 2012, he served in the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the first to fifth convocations. In May 2012, he suspended his membership in "United Russia" due to his transition to public service – until 2015, he was the head of the Russian President's Administration for Domestic Policy. From 2015 to 2020, he was a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. In 2015, by the decree of the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Morozov became a senator – a representative from the executive body of state power of the republic. He resigned from his position as a member of the Federation Council due to his transition to the State Duma, where he has already represented the republic for two convocations since 2020.

      Currently, 10 candidates for the preliminary voting of "United Russia" are registered in Tatarstan. Of these, eight applied through the list (four are party members, two are supporters, and two are non-partisan) and two from single-mandate districts. Besides Morozov, this includes Mikhail Shutov from the Central single-mandate electoral district.

      Let us remind you that on March 11, the acceptance of applications for the "United Russia" primaries began, which will last until the end of April. Voting will take place in the last week of May. From the winners, the party will form lists of those who will be nominated for the elections.

      Currently, Tatarstan is represented in the State Duma by 15 people. All, except for the communist Artem Prokofyev, are from "United Russia." Nine are on the list, and six were elected from single-mandate districts: Ilya Wolfson (Volga district No. 26), Ildar Gilmutdinov (Moscow, No. 27), Alfiya Kogogina (Naberezhnye Chelny, No. 29), Oleg Morozov (Nizhnekamsk, No. 28), Marat Nuriyev (Central, No. 31), and Azat Yagafarov (Almetyevsk, No. 30).
