Associate Professor of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Meri Valishvili warned about technical changes in the national payment system, as reported by "RIA Novosti."
Starting from April 1, amendments to the transfer rules will come into effect, and formally, the changes are aimed at compliance with international standards.
Previously, in the "payer" field, it was sufficient to use the abbreviation "IP" or a short name, but now legal entities and banks will have to provide the full or abbreviated name, while individuals must provide their full surname, first name, and patronymic. Individual entrepreneurs need to write their full name and legal status. For private practitioners, the list expands: full name, type of activity, and taxpayer identification number.
The "payment purpose" field has also ceased to be a formality. It must contain comprehensive information about goods, works, or services, contract numbers, and commodity documents. The limit is no more than 210 characters, but this is enough for any omission to become a reason for a refund. Additionally, a "actual payer" field has been introduced: it is filled out if the money is transferred by a representative (accountant by proxy), indicating their TIN or KPP.
The specialist emphasized that the innovations are of a technical nature. However, now each transfer requires the sender to be more attentive: incomplete data or the absence of an important code may become grounds for refusal to process the payment.
