"It would be better to sit out, Baba." Awards, old terms, and new victims of Russian servicemen.
In official reports, they are referred to as "defenders of the Fatherland" and awarded Suvorov medals, but on their hands are prison tattoos, and in court archives are cases of robbery and murder. "Idel.Realii" studied the stories of some servicemen who exchanged prison garb for camouflage, only to either die in a foreign country or return and find themselves back in the dock. "Fate spared the hero." "Today, a significant event took place in the administration of the district. A participant in the special military operation, or special military operation, as the Russian authorities are obliged to call the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Evgeny Yuryevich Savvin was awarded a high state award," reads the message from the administration of the Vurnarsky municipal district of Chuvashia on "VKontakte" dated March 11, 2026. The message goes on to describe the man's life path. He served in the "Akhmat" unit and, as officials write, distinguished himself twice at the front: in Zaporizhzhia and near Kursk. "Fate spared the hero: having completed all assigned tasks, upon the expiration of his contract, he returned home alive and unharmed," the post states. The award presented to Savvin is the Suvorov medal. "It is awarded for personal courage and bravery displayed in the defense of the Fatherland and the state interests of Russia in combat operations on land," officials clarified.
Evgeny Savvin (second from the left)
In the photograph attached to the post, there are four men: the district military commissioner, officials, and Evgeny Savvin himself. Tattoos are visible on his hands. These are geometric shapes—diamonds. According to prison specifics, as stated in V. F. Pirozhkov's book "Laws of the Criminal World of Youth" (Tver, 1994), the number of diamonds indicates how many times a person has served time in a colony. The Telegram channel "Angry Chuvashia" reported that the man had previously served a sentence: "In December 2005, Savvin was sentenced to four years in a colony for the rape of a woman in the forest in Vurnary. He also served time under Article 228. The photographs from the publication show criminal tattoos on his fingers." The conviction under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, production, processing of narcotic substances") from 2013 is available in the court registry. The case of the rape was not found on the websites of Chuvash courts by "Idel.Realii." "[Savvin], while in a state of drug intoxication, with the aim of producing narcotic substances for personal use, illegally collected wild-growing poppy in the garden of an abandoned farm located in the village of Vurnary in the Chuvash Republic and illegally stored it in a plastic bag until discovered and seized by police officers," the court's verdict stated. Savvin admitted his guilt. He was sentenced to one and a half years probation. The same verdict states that the man had previously been held administratively liable for drug use. Furthermore, at that time (he was 24 years old), Savvin had an "unexpunged conviction for committing a serious crime as a minor." According to "Angry Chuvashia," the conviction for rape was handed down to Savvin in 2005—when he was 17 years old. In social media under news about the award given to the man, users ask just one question: how could his contract have ended. "Looking for a brother." In December 2025, several posts appeared on "VKontakte" with the same message: "Looking for a brother, Khaidarov Khavil Vasimovich, born in 1966. Military unit 13140. Sumy region, the village of Konstantinovka, missing since October 3, 2025." Another post stated that the man went on a combat mission on September 30, 2025, and has not been in contact since.
Khavil Khaidarov
On March 13 of this year, an obituary for Khaidarov appeared in the Telegram channel "Killed from Tatarstan." It was reported that he died on October 3, 2025, at the age of 59. — Are you normal? Who sent this old man to war? — one user questioned in the comments. A regular contributor to the group under the nickname "Askat," who often writes about convicts who went to war from prisons, noted that Khaidarov signed a contract with PMC "Wagner" and left the colony. — Then it's very sad and unfortunate, there was no way out, he wanted to be free, — noted a user under the nickname Nina. — Oh, he should have just served his time, grandpa (from Tatar — grandfather), — disagreed "Farida." — He survived the first contract. Initially, a contract was signed with prisoners for six months, after which they could receive amnesty and return to freedom, and he had the option not to extend and return home; apparently, he had nowhere to go back to, — replied "Askat." — It no longer matters who he was before... He died a Hero! For all of us. For all of us. Glory to the Hero! Eternal memory to all who died for the Motherland, — responded user "Galina." — We didn't ask him, — replied Marat. Khaidarov's brother also appeared in the chat, who had published posts about his search last winter. He wrote that his close one "died as a hero": "Returning with honor as part of the 'Wagner Group,' he signed his own contract and left. He has somewhere to return to — a home and relatives. I am proud of my brother." In the registry of the Aktanysh District Court of Tatarstan, "Idel.Realii" found a criminal case against Khavil Khaidarov from 2014. He was found guilty under part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health resulting in the death of the victim by negligence"). Details of the case and the sentence are unknown, as the verdict was not published. A repeatedly convicted person from Volsk. At the end of February, another story emerged about a serviceman who committed a crime. The Volsky District Court of the Saratov region sentenced 34-year-old local resident Stanislav Vyshinsky to 10 years in a strict regime colony, reported "Volsk.ru." The publication specified that Vyshinsky participated in the war against Ukraine as part of PMC "Wagner." The court established that on the night of March 23 last year, the man set fire to an old two-story wooden house where two large families — the Alzhevs and the Cherebayevas — lived.
Stanislav Vyshinsky
"Volsk.ru" reported that after returning from the war, Vyshinsky began living with Irina Alzheva — the mother of four children aged 12 to 18. One day, a conflict arose between them. After the quarrel, Vyshinsky, according to journalists, went out to drink, and upon returning home, he was not allowed into the apartment. Alzheva, "Volsk.ru" specified, threw his jacket out the door, after which Vyshinsky set it on fire at the apartment door, propping the door handle with a board so that no one could escape. Firefighters managed to evacuate the residents. Stanislav Vyshinsky was charged with attempted murder of two or more persons, including minors, committed in a socially dangerous manner with particular cruelty. Additionally, he was charged with intentional destruction of another's property by arson, illegal manufacture and storage of firearms, and theft. During the investigation, Vyshinsky was sent to a pre-trial detention center. The man had previously been repeatedly held criminally liable. Astra reported that in 2010, Vyshinsky was found guilty of theft, robbery, car theft, and destruction of property. In 2020, he was convicted of stealing a phone and money from a found bank card. In 2021, the man was sentenced to 11 years in prison for causing serious harm to health, resulting in the death of 37-year-old neighbor Yuri Melnytsky. Vyshinsky, according to "Volsk.ru," beat him with a stool. The convict did not serve his full sentence, as he signed a contract in the colony and went to war against Ukraine. After some time, Vyshinsky was pardoned. Another criminal case against the man was initiated after an incident on September 24, 2024. At that time, "Volsk.ru" reported, Vyshinsky broke a window of a building with a brick and stole tools found there. In October 2024, he was sentenced to one year of conditional imprisonment for this case. "The court left him free, imposing one year of conditional imprisonment — most likely because his previous convictions were annulled due to service in PMC 'Wagner,'" "Mediazona" speculated. "Caused damage in the amount of 100 rubles and physical pain." On May 19, 2023, 45-year-old resident of Bugulma (Tatarstan) Yanush Lebedev died in the war in Ukraine. This is literally all that is known about him. There are no photographs of the man even in the Telegram channel "Killed from Tatarstan," which does not happen very often
