The XIII International Scientific and Practical Forum has started at KIU: the first day brought together science, business, and government.

On March 26, 2026, the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov hosted the opening of the XIII International Scientific and Practical Forum "Effective Management Systems: Standardization. Data Economy. Personnel and Technological Leadership" and the VII Innovative Educational Campus 2026 "Technological and Personnel Leadership. Youth Collaborations in Science and Technology." The year 2026 is held under the auspices of the Decade of Science and Technology, declared by the President of the Russian Federation. The forum traditionally serves as a key platform for dialogue among science, education, business, and government authorities on achieving technological leadership. Established in 2017 at KIU, the Intersectoral Research Project Institute of Production Systems aims to enhance the interaction between science and the real sector of the economy. Today, the university acts as the organizer of the Forum, uniting key areas of technological development in the country. Since 2011, more than 5,000 specialists have participated in the forum. This year, over 500 people are participating, with about 200 joining online from 40 regions of Russia. The forum also attracts the attention of foreign colleagues. Within the Campus, the "Innovation Space-2026" competition and the DATA-HACKATHON "GROWTH SPACE" are taking place: out of more than 80 applications, 30 projects have been selected, with 19 teams participating in the hackathon. The rector of the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, Chair of the Public Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Chair of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Economist of the Republic of Tatarstan Asiya Vitalyevna Timiryasova addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She emphasized that the university actively participates in shaping the new scientific and technological agenda of the country, developing areas of technological entrepreneurship, personnel training, and interaction with industry. In her speech, the rector noted: "Today we have many new participants who have come to Kazan and our university for the first time. We are open to cooperation, experience exchange, and joint solutions to the tasks of technological development in the country." Special attention was given to the development of acceleration programs, support for startups, and systematic work with young scientists, as well as the integration of the university into federal projects in the fields of technology, personnel, and demographics. "Today, a 'seamless' system of project support has been created in the republic — from idea to implementation. It is important that projects are in demand by the economy. When you are given resources for your ability to think — you need to take advantage of it," he noted, emphasizing the importance of coordinating science, business, and the state. The participants of the forum were also addressed by the scientific leader of the Institute of Regional Economic Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Vladimir Valentinovich Okrepilov, who highlighted the significance of international scientific dialogue: "The forum rightfully serves as an authoritative discussion platform where ideas for achieving national development goals are formed." A representative from the Republic of Belarus, Director of the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification Alexander Gennadyevich Skuratov, also spoke with greetings, expressing interest in developing joint educational programs and international cooperation. Vladimir Nikolaevich Chernyak, Director of the CIS Standards Bureau — Secretary of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification, emphasized the key role of standardization: "It is impossible to talk about technological leadership without developing a national standardization system." Denis Evgenievich Mironov, General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Russian Institute of Standardization," presented the digital transformation of the industry: "Today, standardization is entering the digital environment using artificial intelligence, which allows for a significant increase in work efficiency and a reduction in data processing times." Natalia Vladimirovna Butaeva, Deputy Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that standardization is also actively being implemented in the social sphere, improving the quality and accessibility of services. Today, the forum is becoming not only an expert platform but also a youth platform. According to her, the thinking of students and young scientists has noticeably changed: "If earlier projects were more educational, today they are full-fledged solutions aimed at real business and industry tasks. Young teams work with project economics, risks, and scaling." She also noted the growth of international interest: "Today, representatives from countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East are coming to us. They are looking for practical models — from Halal standards to digital quality management platforms."
