According to the research, the region accounted for 16.3 percent of all orders in Russia, and the demand for hotels increased by 75 percent. For comparison, last year Tatarstan was only third on the list of the most sought-after destinations, TASS reports. Saint Petersburg came in second with a share of 14 percent of the total number of bookings. The Krasnodar Krai rounded out the top three with 10 percent. The top 5 also included Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad regions, where interest in trips has remained virtually unchanged over the year. In addition, analysts also noted an increase in the number of Russians planning to travel alone: their share increased to 24 percent. At the same time, half of the tourists will be resting as a couple, and 15 percent will be in a group of three. It should be noted that in March, residents of Tatarstan received two periods of long weekends. This was related to the celebration of International Women's Day and Uraza-Bayram. It was previously reported that Kazan entered the top 4 cities in Russia for the popularity of car sharing this winter. Across Russia as a whole, from December 2025 to February 2026, Russians drove 215 million kilometers in rented cars, which is comparable to 230 trips from the Earth to the Moon and back. The record day for the number of bookings was December 19, while the minimum demand was recorded on January 1.
