       In the Republic of Tatarstan, the number of transactions for the sale of residential properties in the secondary market increased by 20.5%. However, in the primary market, the corresponding dynamics decreased by 28.5%.

       As of February this year, there were 11.3 thousand purchases of housing in the secondary market of Tatarstan, which is 20.5 percent more than in January. The corresponding data is provided by the Rosreestr of the republic, as reported by RBC. Experts indicate that the demand for residential premises increased by 31 percent (from 3.6 to 4.7 thousand purchase agreements), for land plots – by 15 percent (from 4.6 to 5.3 thousand), for individual residential houses – by 7.6 percent (from 684 to 736), and for non-residential premises – by 11.7 percent (from 453 to 506). At the same time, the primary market showed the opposite dynamics: just over 1.4 thousand agreements were registered here, which is 28.5 percent less than the January figure. Lilia Burganova, Deputy Head of the Rosreestr Office for the Republic of Tatarstan, explained that January of this year was atypical for new buildings: a record number of shared ownership agreements was registered, the highest in the last seven years. “The primary real estate market had been demonstrating a stable positive trend for a long time,” noted Lilia Burganova, Deputy Head of the Rosreestr Office for the Republic of Tatarstan. Compared to February 2025, the decrease was 9 percent. At the same time, the total number of agreements registered in the first two months of this year was 17 percent higher than a year earlier. It was previously reported that overdue debt on mortgage housing loans in Tatarstan reached a historical maximum. According to the Bank of Russia, as of February 1, 2026, the debt amount exceeded 6.4 billion rubles. In January alone, it increased by 183 million, and over the past year, it grew by almost 3.9 billion rubles.
