      In 2026, the total limit for the social tax deduction for personal income tax (PIT) for children's education is 110,000 rubles per child. This was reported by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Ekaterina Golubtsova. She reminded that Russians can receive social deductions for PIT when paying for medical services, education, and fitness activities. "The total amount of all social deductions for a taxpayer under PIT cannot exceed 150,000 rubles. However, this limit does not include the benefit for paying for children's education, which is an additional 110,000 rubles per year for each child, in total for both parents," Golubtsova noted in an interview with RIA Novosti. Thus, with a PIT rate of 13%, a parent can get back up to 14,300 rubles, and with a rate of 15% – up to 16,500 rubles. The deduction is provided for expenses related to the education of a child under 24 years old in full-time education, as well as for dependents under 18 years old. According to explanations from the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the right to receive the deduction must be documented.

      Moreover, with a license or other confirming document, the deduction can be claimed not only for education at universities but also at other educational institutions – both public and private, including schools and kindergartens.
