Nagumanov specified that last year, 20.4 thousand cases of cancer were identified in Tatarstan — this is 5.8 thousand more than five years ago. The most common types of cancer include colorectal cancer, skin cancer (including melanoma), breast cancer, as well as lung and prostate tumors. As of the end of December 2025, more than 127 thousand patients in Tatarstan suffer from malignant neoplasms — this is every 32nd resident of the republic, Nagumanov said in February. He added that the incidence increased by 4.5% compared to 2024 and by 12% compared to 2023. A year earlier, every 33rd resident of Tatarstan had a cancerous disease.
