A fraudster from Bashkiria with 550 SIM cards was detained in Nizhnekamsk.

      In Nizhnekamsk, a resident of the Republic of Bashkortostan was detained, suspected of illegally using equipment intended for committing remote crimes. A specialized device and more than 550 SIM cards from various mobile operators were discovered and seized in his rented apartment on Khimikov Avenue. According to the investigation, the detainee had been providing the operation of a virtual telephone station and subscriber terminals for traffic bypassing since December of last year. The man received SIM cards and equipment through parcel lockers, registered, activated, and maintained their operation under the direction of curators from a messenger. For his criminal work, he received rewards in cryptocurrency. The suspect has confessed. A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Illegal use of a subscriber terminal for traffic bypassing or a virtual telephone station" (part 2 of article 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The used SIM cards match criminal cases of fraud initiated in various regions of the Russian Federation, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Rostov-on-Don, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.
