According to Rosstat data, the cost of services has increased the most – by 11.76%. Almost all services have become more expensive, with the exception of foreign tourism. The annual inflation rate in the Republic of Tatarstan as of February this year has decreased to 6.86 percent. However, as noted in the Rosstat report, the republic continues to outpace the national average. According to the agency, this figure is higher than the overall national rate (5.91 percent) and in the territory of the Volga Federal District (6.53 percent). As of February, consumer prices in the region increased by 0.85 percent compared to January. Experts calculated that the most significant jump – by 11.76 percent – occurred in the services sector. The increase affected almost all categories, with the exception of foreign tourism. Food prices rose by 7.26 percent. The prices of meat, fish, cheese, and confectionery increased. A significant rise of 15.37 percent was observed in tea, coffee, and cocoa. At the same time, prices for butter and fats, eggs, sugar, pasta, and cereals decreased. Additionally, it is noted that non-food goods have become more expensive by 2.61 percent. Among the leaders in growth were clothing, underwear, knitwear, and perfumery-cosmetic products. Shoes, electrical goods, household appliances, and television and radio equipment became cheaper. It should be noted that, as previously reported, by the end of 2025, Tatarstan became the region with the highest wage growth dynamics in Russia. The average earnings of the republic's residents increased by 20 percent over the year.
