Fighters from the African Corps have departed from Kazan to the training center.
15 volunteers of the African Corps have been sent to the training location, after which they will be deployed to the "black continent."
A new stage of recruitment: the barracks in Kazan bid farewell to the future defenders of Russia's interests abroad.
Today, April 2, 2026, a ceremonial send-off took place at Kazan Station for the first group of servicemen who signed contracts with the African Corps this spring. Exactly 15 fighters departed for the location of the training unit, where they will undergo an intensive combat training program.
According to the escort service, all selected candidates are residents of Tatarstan and neighboring regions. They have successfully passed medical examinations, psychological testing, and reliability checks.
What awaits the recruits far from home
The contractors face a three-month training course ahead. The program includes:
· Tactical medicine in desert and tropical climate conditions;
· Handling of standard weapons from African countries;
· Basics of survival in high temperatures and water scarcity;
· Study of the specifics of guarding strategic facilities abroad.
After three months, the personnel will be transferred to the African continent to carry out official combat tasks. It should be noted that the African Corps was established in 2023 at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to respond to crises where the protection of Russia's state interests is required.
Who is accepted into the "African Corps": uncompromising requirements
For those wishing to follow in the footsteps of these 15 fighters, the editorial office of "Tatar-inform" clarifies the selection criteria. The main requirement is exclusively Russian citizenship. Individuals with dual citizenship are not allowed to serve.
Age limits:
· Private and sergeant ranks — up to 45 years;
· Command positions — up to 55 years (in exceptional cases, with excellent physical fitness, age may be reconsidered).
Financial conditions:
· At the permanent deployment point in the territory of the Russian Federation — from 45,000 rubles;
· On deployment (Africa) — from 230,000 rubles.
Priority in selection is given to reserve officers, warrant officers, and former contractors with experience in special forces units (FSB, GRU, Ministry of Internal Affairs) or private military companies. Combat experience is welcomed.
Requirements for education and health:
Candidates must have at least a general secondary education (11 grades) or secondary vocational education. Fitness for service is determined by categories "A" or "B." Special attention is paid to resilience to hot climates.
An important legal nuance: the candidate must not have any debts (tax, credit, alimony) that prohibit travel abroad. Having a personal passport is not mandatory — the corps issues travel documents centrally.
Reference from "Tatar-inform": The African Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is positioned as a tool of "soft power" and military presence on the continent. Unlike the Wagner private military company, the corps fighters are career servicemen with all social guarantees, including insurance and years of service.
The next send-off from Kazan is scheduled for two weeks from now. Selection points operate in all military enlistment offices in Tatarstan.
