The head coach of "Neftekhimik," Grishin, has extended his contract for two years.
The head coach of "Neftekhimik," Igor Grishin, will continue to hold his position in the next season. The specialist's contract was set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season, but the agreement will be extended. This was announced by the general director of "Neftekhimik," Igor Larionov. "We have agreed with Igor Vladimirovich to extend the contract for two years <…> Of course, the conditions have improved. This result should be appreciated. A fundamental agreement was reached earlier, but we met literally yesterday to discuss financial matters and made a decision," noted the official. "Not everything went smoothly at first; there were unremarkable games because we were getting used to each other. We got to know each other better and established an atmosphere in the team. The season went well; we identified the leaders and the youth who contributed throughout the season <…> I am satisfied here; we have complete mutual understanding with the management. They do not pressure us unnecessarily. Our coaching staff feels comfortable. I liked the city, and I was happy to extend the contract; I am glad to work here," said Grishin. Earlier, "BUSINESS Online" reported that preliminary negotiations were held with Grishin before the start of the playoffs. Recall that Grishin took over "Neftekhimik" in the summer of 2025. Under his leadership, the team finished seventh in the Eastern Conference standings and was eliminated in the 1/8 finals of the Gagarin Cup by "Avangard" (1–4).
