4G will arrive in 73 villages of Tatarstan in 2026.

The Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan has announced plans to expand the mobile network in rural areas. As part of the federal project to eliminate the digital divide, 73 new base stations will be installed in small settlements in the region by 2026. The work is being carried out under the national project "Data Economy." A key feature of this stage is the complete transition to Russian telecom equipment. As noted by the head of the department, Ilya Nachvin, while there were no domestic analogs at the start of the program in 2021, by 2025, towers were being built exclusively using local technologies. As a result, 33,000 residents of remote villages gained access to high-speed internet. This year, the tradition will continue: all 73 facilities will operate on Russian infrastructure. This will provide 4G connectivity to settlements with populations ranging from 100 to 500 people. The project allows rural residents to use government services online, study remotely, and stay in touch with relatives. The right to choose which villages will receive connectivity remains with the citizens. Voting for villages to be included in the program takes place through the "Gosuslugi" portal. The final list of addresses for tower installation is formed based on the results of the people's vote.

It should be noted that since 2022, more than 274 LTE stations have already been put into operation in Tatarstan thanks to this program. In the past year, 2025, 159 facilities were built in 42 districts of the republic. Source: "Tatar Inform"
