"We have a complete understanding of how we will work with pit bikers: sending the equipment to the impound lot, confiscating it, and also holding not only the parents of such drivers administratively accountable but also criminally. Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 'Involvement of a minor in actions that pose a danger to the life of the minor' will be applied to them," said Mikhail Savin, head of the traffic police department, to Tatar-inform. This article is already being applied in other regions. In Tatarstan, there is currently only one precedent, in the Kaybitsky district.

      "In 2024, a resident of the Kaybitsky district bought a moped and gave it to his son. In July 2025, the teenager and his brother were involved in a traffic accident and sustained serious bodily injuries. A criminal case was initiated against the father under part 1 of article 151.2," explained Shamil Garipov, acting head of the traffic police department for the AMR.

      A pit bike does not differ much from a full-fledged motorcycle, but it cannot be registered as a vehicle, and the absence of turn signals, headlights, and brake lights prohibits the owner from riding on regular roads. In case of violation, traffic inspectors will send the equipment to the impound lot, and the driver, whether a teenager or an adult, will be sent home on foot.

      "Traffic police conducted preventive raids on April 1 and 2, 2026. Over the two days of the raids, 6 pit bikes were detained and placed in a special parking lot. Administrative materials were drawn up against the teenagers and sent to the juvenile affairs commission," said Shamil Garipov, acting head of the traffic police department for the AMR.
