In Tatarstan, the procedure for compensating housing rent for educators has been approved. The compensation procedure will be provided to specialists on a competitive basis.
The government of Tatarstan has approved the procedure for providing pedagogical workers with compensation for expenses to cover housing rent. The corresponding decree has been published on the official legal information portal of the republic. As stated in the document, teachers in the republic will be able to count on receiving a certain payment from the regional budget, which will be provided to reimburse the costs incurred for renting housing – up to 180,000 rubles per year. This support measure will be provided on a competitive basis. Teachers whose primary place of work is a state or municipal educational institution, where they hold a position included in the list of priorities for the region, will be eligible for such compensation. At the same time, the applicant and their family must not own housing in the municipality where they work. Each year, support will be available to no more than 350 people. As reported by "Tatar-inform," Olga Pavlova, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation from Tatarstan, called this decision a targeted but important measure of personnel policy. She noted that the main deficit in education today is people, and the issue of housing remains key. According to her, rent compensation allows specialists to be retained in schools, especially in municipalities that are challenging for attracting staff, and the competitive selection and requirement of not owning housing make the measure targeted and fair. It was previously reported that from April 1, a campaign for enrollment in the first grade will start in Tatarstan. This year's innovation is the ability to submit a package of documents through the State Services portal.
