The absence of an atmosphere and a stable geological foundation create unique conditions for placing optical and infrared observatories. Thanks to the long lunar nights and the lack of light pollution, such instruments can conduct continuous high-precision observations of distant exoplanets and relic radiation. "The emergence of satellites in lunar orbit will kill radio astronomy. The Moon is not as important for optical astronomy since optical telescopes work well on Earth too. At the same time, it is impossible to receive radio waves 15-20 meters long on Earth; this is only possible for us on the far side of the Moon. By the way, in China, they are already designing a system of radio astronomical satellites that will transmit information from behind the Moon in a chain," Surdin concluded.
