The regional championship "Abilympics - 2026" has opened in Bulgaria.

      The solemn opening took place at the base of the Technical School of Industry Technologies.

      The solemn opening of the regional championship of professional skills for people with disabilities and limited health capabilities "Abilympics - 2026" was held at the Spassky Technical School of Industry Technologies. This year, the competition is taking place in two competencies — "Cleaning" and "Barista." Participants were welcomed by the director of the technical school, Sergey Ryzhyev, the deputy head of the Spassky district, Sergey Tyunov, and the head of the personnel center, Elena Razina. Sergey Ryzhyev reminded that the championship is held with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia and the platform "Russia — a country of opportunities" as part of the federal project "Professionalitet" and the national project "Youth and Children." – Students of the technical school traditionally show good results in the championship movement. The overall medal count of the educational institution is 18 awards: 5 gold, 2 silver, and 11 bronze. Since 2021, the technical school has been a venue for the regional championship. The number of participants is growing: in 2022 there were 6, in 2023 and 2024 — 15 each, in 2025 — 24, and this year — 26, - noted the director. Sergey Vladimirovich thanked the mentors and teachers for their work. He wished the participants success, the experts — fruitful work, and also to get to Moscow and show everything they are capable of. The winners of the regional stage will represent the republic at the qualifying stage, the results of which will determine the participants of the national championship "Abilympics" 2026 in Moscow.

      Deputy head Sergey Tyunov called the championship an opportunity for children to showcase themselves and create conditions for self-realization. He emphasized that there are all conditions for this in the district, and there are no employment problems thanks to the developed hotel network — from the three-star hotel "Regina" to the five-star "Kul Gali." – There is no need to go to big cities, — he noted. Elena Razina spoke about a new measure of state support — routing. Its goal is to create a personal career route for students in grades 8–9 and graduates of universities and colleges, orienting them towards targeted training and employment at regional enterprises. She also reminded about the possibility of undergoing career guidance on the "Work of Russia" portal under the "State Services" login.

      In the competitive trials, students from various educational institutions participated: the Bulgarian boarding school for children with limited health capabilities, the Spassky Technical School of Industry Technologies, the Nurlat Agricultural Technical School, and others. Participants were divided into three categories: "Schoolchildren," "Students," and "Specialists." After the ceremonial part, the contestants dispersed to classrooms where challenges awaited them. The names of the winners and prize-winners will be announced later.
