All questions are only to them because with the state, everything has long been clear. They don't care who goes; for them, it's just a name on a list. Another user talked about how she raised this issue in a conversation with colleagues: "With colleagues, we accidentally touched on this topic. Not one has a VPN, they don't read Telegram. One has a son in the army now, two are going this year. They all argued that conscripts cannot get into the SVO (Special Military Operation) or that they are not forced, like — why. Analysis by the "Russian Service of BBC" In spring 2023, the Russian State Duma adopted amendments allowing contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to be signed immediately after graduating from school and reaching the age of 18. In schools, colleges, and universities, teenagers are increasingly being urged to join the army. The "Russian Service of BBC" in its latest report wrote that based on their list of the deceased, journalists can conclude that "at least a spike in the deaths of young people in the war within a year after the law was passed was not observed." In the first phase, they were agitating in the best technical universities in the country and at military departments, the publication T-invariant reported. In the second phase — starting January 2026 — they began actively recruiting students on the verge of expulsion. From February, they started recruiting all students. This week, at least two visits to two universities in Tatarstan became known — Kazan Federal University (KFU) and Kazan State Medical University (KSMU). The main focus of the agitation is on service in UAV units and the possibility of replacing conscription with a short contract. On April 7, a meeting was held at KSMU with Captain Yegor Goryachev — an officer from the military service selection point and a finalist of the republican program "Batyrlar. Heroes of Tatarstan." According to a report by the "Tatmedia" holding, Goryachev presented to students the service in UAV troops. The day before, on April 6, a similar meeting took place at KFU. According to the publication "Groza," attendance for students in their final years of bachelor's and master's programs was mandatory.
