      In Nurlat, a republican festival of Chuvash recruiting songs is taking place. In the House of Friendship of Peoples, the atmosphere is filled with creativity and special energy. Here, folklore groups from 8 districts of the republic perform recruiting songs and present thematic performances. The competition program includes three nominations: "Ritual," "Collective Singing," and "Solo Singing." The participants of the festival were welcomed on behalf of the head of the Nurlat district by the deputy head of the city of Nurlat, Nikolai Lipatov. He wished the contestants success and expressed gratitude to the organizers for holding the event on Nurlat soil. "In many Chuvash villages, the tradition of singing recruiting songs during army send-offs has been preserved. This festival-competition was first held in 2015 – it was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The festival was warmly received by folk folklore groups: we have about 50 of them, and all participated, showcasing rituals and singing songs. As it turned out, each ethnographic group of Chuvash people, compactly residing in our republic, has its own recruiting songs. This is primarily an incredibly rich baggage of folklore material. And, of course, each has its own interesting traditions of send-offs. This year's festival is dedicated to patriotic education and the Year of Military and Labor Valor in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is being held as part of the implementation of the grant from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for the development of civil society," said Konstantin Malyshev, the first deputy chairman of the Chuvash National-Cultural Autonomy in the Republic of Tatarstan. The festival-competition aims to preserve, develop, and popularize the unique layer of traditional Chuvash culture – recruiting songs and rituals that have deep historical and emotional-moral significance.

      According to the organizers, the qualifying rounds are held in four districts of the republic, and the final will take place in May in Kazan.
