Afghanistan plans to sign a number of contracts with Russia at the economic forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2026" in Kazan, including in the field of purchasing Russian oil products and agricultural products, said Rustam Khabibullin, head of the Russian business center in Afghanistan, to RIA Novosti. "Three contracts are planned to be signed at the forum in the field of procurement by the Afghan side of oil products, agricultural products, as well as a contract for investments by a Russian construction company in the development of Afghanistan's infrastructure," Khabibullin said. For the first time, a delegation from Afghanistan visited Kazan in 2024 at the invitation of the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. In 2025, the Afghan delegation became one of the largest at the forum.
