As part of the national team of Russia, students Azamat Sharafiev from Kazan School No. 9 and Said Nurgayanov from Kazan Lyceum No. 131 won silver medals, reports the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan. "Last year, both students won gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad named after Abu Rayhan Biruni in Tashkent. The participation of talented schoolchildren in international intellectual competitions aligns with the goals of the national project 'Youth and Children' aimed at developing and supporting gifted children in Russia," the agency noted. The Mendeleev Olympiad featured 200 schoolchildren from 37 countries, including China, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Cuba, Mongolia, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and others. The program of tests for schoolchildren included three stages. Two of them were theoretical rounds with tasks of increased complexity covering all sections of chemistry. The third round, experimental, was organized at the laboratories of the Chemistry Faculty of Moscow State University.
