Today, at the base of the Republican Olympic Reserve Sports School for shotgun and rifle shooting named after the Honored Coach of the USSR, Honored Worker of Physical Culture Sultan Sungatullovich Yarullin, a solemn opening ceremony of the All-Russian shotgun shooting competitions took place as part of the state program "Sport of Russia." This year, the tournament is dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was attended by the head of the Executive Committee of the Tetyushi District, Irek Sadriyev, the first deputy minister of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, Khalil Shaikhutdinov, the president of the Federation of Rifle and Shotgun Shooting of Tatarstan, Sergey Demin, silver medalist of the 2000 Olympic Games (Sydney), multiple world and European champion, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in shotgun shooting, Svetlana Dyomina, the director of the Sports Training Center, Albert Bagautdinov, and the director of the branch of the State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education of the Republican Olympic Reserve Sports School for shotgun and rifle shooting, Andrey Kushagin.
Irek Sadriyev addressed the participants of the competition and guests with a welcoming speech. He conveyed greetings on behalf of the head of the Tetyushi District, Ramis Safiullov, and emphasized that the Tetyushi land, with its rich history, picturesque nature, and glorious sports traditions, is always happy to welcome athletes. Irek Sadriyev noted that the solemn ceremony takes place on the eve of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which gives the competitions a special significance.
"For our district, this is a great honor and immense responsibility," said the head of the Executive Committee. He added that holding prestigious events in Tetyushi speaks to the high level of preparation of the participants and the impeccable reputation of the local sports school.
Irek Sadriyev specifically highlighted the achievements of the Tetyushi shotgun shooting school, which celebrated its 65th anniversary this year. He emphasized that excellent conditions for training have been created here, and thanks to this, Tetyushi athletes are part of the Russian national team, represent the country at world competitions, and become Olympic champions.
"We are glad that our hospitable Tatarstan has become a meeting place for you," he noted, expressing confidence that the atmosphere of fair competition and friendly communication will help strengthen sports and cultural ties between regions. Concluding his speech, Irek Sadriyev wished the participants bright victories, new records, and unforgettable impressions.
Khalil Shaikhutdinov, the first deputy minister of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted the special significance of the venue in Tetyushi for the development of shotgun shooting. "65 years ago, thanks to the legendary person Sultan Sungatullovich Yarullin, this venue appeared. The base here is one of the best. All conditions have been created for athletes, including quality weapon support. Tetyushi District is very cozy, and sports here are moving forward largely thanks to the head of the district," emphasized Khalil Shaikhutdinov.
During the solemn event, the legendary athlete, Honored Master of Sports Svetlana Dyomina, was recognized with a letter of gratitude from the head of the Tetyushi municipal district for her outstanding achievements in sports and high professionalism.
For impeccable and conscientious work in the field of physical culture and sports of the district, the Honorary Certificate of the Tetyushi municipal district was awarded to the warehouse manager of the State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "Republican Olympic Reserve Sports School for Shotgun and Rifle Shooting" Olga Ivanets, worker of the State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "Republican Olympic Reserve Sports School for Shotgun and Rifle Shooting" Ivan Mareev, and technician of the State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "Republican Olympic Reserve Sports School for Shotgun and Rifle Shooting" Dmitry Saifiev.

Shotgun shooting is one of the most spectacular, dynamic, and popular sports, and the competitions in Tetyushi fully confirm this status. Athletes from Moscow, Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, Kurgan, Kaluga regions, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan are participating in the tournament. The Tetyushi District is represented by 29 athletes.
More than 100 athletes are competing in two classic disciplines of shotgun shooting: - skeet (circular stand), - trap (trench stand).
The competitions will last until April 25, 2026. The organizers expect bright performances, new records, and uncompromising but fair competition.
