"Books for Our Own": An initiative has started in Kazan to collect military-patriotic literature for the soldiers of the special operation.

It was organized at the initiative of a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Olga Pavlova, with the support of the Kazan local branch of the United Russia party and the Tatarstan regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Officers of Russia."
In Kazan, as part of the "Books for Our Own" campaign, a collection of military-patriotic literature has been announced for subsequent transfer to military personnel performing tasks in the special military operation zone. Citizens, public organizations, educational institutions, and libraries are invited to participate in the campaign. The goal is to collect and provide military personnel performing tasks in the special military operation zone with quality literature: historical, motivational, and artistic content to support morale, intellectual development, and cultural leisure organization.
Requirements for books:
Military-patriotic literature by Russian writers and poets
- Memoirs of commanders (Zhukov, Rokossovsky, Suvorov, etc.);
- Artistic works about the war ("The Dawns Here Are Quiet," "In the Trenches of Stalingrad," etc.);
- Contemporary journalism about the special military operation, heroes of our time;
- Books on the history of Russia, key battles;
- Biographies of great Russian rulers, military leaders;
- Classical Russian prose and others.
The organizers ask not to bring literature containing extremist, anti-state, or anti-Russian ideas, as well as books in poor condition – torn, with missing pages, or moldy. Magazines, newspapers, promotional brochures, and electronic media without prior verification for harmful content will also not be accepted. All collected books will be sorted and sent to the special military operation zone.
Books can be brought until May 7 inclusive.
